About Genesis

Genesis is a songwriting app for iPhone that puts your lyrics, chords and recordings on one page. It writes like Notes and records like Voice Memos: type a verse, tap a word to put a chord on it, then tap the red button and sing. Songwriters can add tracks, try ideas, find rhymes and chord progressions, have the words of a take written down, split a recording into stems with Stem Splitter, shape the sound of each track, and export a mix, a chord chart or every track for their studio. Auto Lyrics, chords, key and tempo run on the iPhone, and Genesis collects no data. Writing is free, with an optional Genesis Pro subscription.

Notes has your lyrics. Voice Memos has your melody. Your head has everything else. Genesis puts it all on one page.

Type the words, and they fall into verses and choruses. Tap a chord, and it lands on the exact syllable it belongs to. Press record, and your take becomes a track, right under the lyrics it goes with. Then Genesis does the part nobody likes: it writes it down. The words you sang. The chords you played. The key, the tempo, the time signature.

Stuck on a line? The Rhyme Bar is already waiting above the keyboard. Forgot how a chord goes? Its shape is one tap away, on guitar or piano. Want to try it slower, in another key? Make a new idea, and keep every one you’ve ever made.

It’s the notebook, the tape recorder and the bit of magic in between.
